About This Treatment

PRP for hair uses a small blood draw, a centrifuge cycle, and microinjections into the scalp to deliver concentrated growth factors directly to thinning areas. The goal is to support existing follicles and improve hair density—it works best for early to moderate thinning, not advanced baldness.

Most patients are recommended an initial series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. Visible improvement is gradual, typically appearing over 3–6 months as the hair cycle progresses.

Trita’s physician-led protocol includes a candid scalp assessment, a review of medications and medical conditions that affect bleeding or platelets, and an honest conversation about what PRP can—and cannot—do. When indicated, we discuss complementary options (topical or oral therapy) so your plan is realistic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hair changes are gradual—most patients notice early improvements at 3 months, with continued benefit over 6 months and beyond. Photographic tracking helps assess progress objectively.

PRP supports follicles that are still present but miniaturized. It is not a treatment for advanced baldness where follicles are gone—we will tell you honestly at consultation.

A topical numbing option is offered. Most patients describe brief stings during the injection passes, which subside quickly.

Active scalp infection, certain platelet disorders, anticoagulation, pregnancy, or severe anemia may require deferral—reviewed at consultation.
